Detailed Description of Preferred Embodiments of the Invention It is, as stated above, a desire today that to an excessive extent e.g. avoid filling a floor around a unit that is intended to be applied at the top of 10 15 20 25 30 3 and / or in a floor drain for laying tiles, natural stone tiles or the like. on top of the floor drain. The unit according to the present invention eliminates the need for such a superstructure at the height of the floor around the floor drain, since the total height of the unit above the floor drain largely corresponds to the height of the tile covering. The unit according to the present invention can be used both in new construction and in the renovation of older floors with previously installed floor drains. In the embodiment shown in the drawings, a unit 1 according to the present invention is arranged on top of a schematic illustrated floor drain 2 of conventional type arranged in a space with an inlet portion 3 and an outlet portion 4. The inlet portion 3 has a mounting flange 5, by means of which the floor drain 2 in the floor in the space. In the embodiment shown, the inlet portion 3 also has a seat 6 for a clamping ring 7, by means of which e.g. a waterproofing layer on the floor is fixed to the floor drain. The clamping ring 7 can be dispensed with by the sealing layer instead e.g. adheres to the floor drain and does not form part of the present invention either. The floor drain 2 is preferably also provided with a water trap (not shown). The outlet portion 4 of the floor drain 2 is connected to a drainage system for draining water which flows down into the floor drain from the floor via the inlet portion 3.
The unit 1 according to the present invention consists of two parts 8 and 9.
A first part 8 of the unit 1 has a space 10 for mounting in the space of the second part 9 of the unit. The height of this space 10 corresponds in the embodiment shown in the drawings substantially to the height of the second part 9 of the unit 1. The first part 8 of the unit 1 is designed in such a design that its total height also substantially corresponds to or slightly exceeds the height of the second part 9 of the unit. The first part 8 of the unit 1 also has at least one portion 11 for mounting the first part at the top of and / or in the floor drain 2. As said portion 11 for applying the first part at the top of and / or in the floor drain 2, each portion of said first part is designated by means of which this first part can be placed on top of and / or in the floor drain. The application of the first part 8 of the unit 1 can thus take place as in the drawings by placing the portion 11 thereof on top of the mounting flange 5 to the inlet part 3 of the floor drain 2. The application can e.g. It can also happen that parts of said portion 11 further extend down into the inlet part 3 of the floor drain 2, down towards the seat 6, in order to obtain an improved fixation of the unit 1 in the floor drain. The portion 11 or other suitably designed and / or arranged portions of the first part 8 of the unit 1 can then also function as centering means for correct application of said first part at the top of and / or in the floor drain. By means of the portion 11, the first part 8 of the unit 1 is thus arranged in all conditions so that the space 10 via at least one opening 12 in the part 13 thereof which forms the bottom of the space 10 is open downwards towards the inlet portion 3 of the floor drain 2 for flow connection therewith. In the embodiment shown in the drawings, said portion of the first part 8 of the unit 1 is formed by a flange 11, which upon application of the unit will rest on top of the mounting flange 5 to the floor drain 2. Instead of a circumferential flange, the portion 11 for mounting the first unit 1 part 8 at the top of and / or in the floor drain 2 have any other shape suitable for the purpose, e.g. consist of several smaller, non-circumferential flange-shaped parts. The second part 9 of the unit 1 also has a space 14. This space is intended for at least one tile, a plate of natural stone or the like, e.g. a plate shaped like a tile. The height of the space 14 in the embodiment shown in the drawings substantially corresponds to the height of a tile or the like. The second part 9 of the unit 1 is in the embodiment shown so designed that its total height also substantially corresponds to or slightly exceeds the height of a tile or the like.
The first and second parts 8, 9 of the unit 1 are designed such that when the second part 9 is fitted in the space 10 in the first part 8, a gap 15 is formed between said parts.
This gap 15 opens at least partially substantially into the opening 12 in the bottom part 13 to the space 10 in said first part of the unit or immediately above this opening, so that water does not have to flow in under the second part 9 to reach said opening. The second part 9 can consequently be arranged with at least lower portions thereof, e.g. a bottom part to the second part, substantially at the level of the bottom part 13 to the space 10 or at the level of the opening 12 in the bottom part 13 to the space 10 in the first part or just above this opening, which gives a low construction height of the unit 1. The water can thereby also drain away faster, straight down into the inlet portion 3 of the floor drain 2. The gap 15 is preferably circumferential, i.e. runs around the second part 9 of the unit 1 with tile etc. The gap 15 may, however, look different, depending on how the second part 9 of the unit 1 is placed in the space 10 in the first part 8 of the unit 10, and partly on the size of the second part. in relation to the size of the space for the second part in the first part. At the top, of course, the gap 15 opens into the space with the floor drain on and / or in which the unit according to the present invention is applied. The gap 15 can be described with the correct size as a gap screen, so no separate screen is needed in the floor drain 2. A suitable gap size is between approx. 4 and approx. 8 mm.
In the embodiment shown in the drawings, only one opening 12 is accommodated in the bottom part 13 of the space 10 in the first part 8 of the unit 1. This opening 12 has such a size that portions of it in the vertical direction lie outside the extension on the second part 9 of the unit 1. This is clearest from Fig. 3, which shows the unit 1 straight from the top.
This embodiment facilitates the flow of water out of the gap 15 as indicated above, since the gap thereby in its entirety or at least for the most part opens directly into said opening 12 without any water having to flow in under the second part 9 of the unit.
The first part 8 of the unit 1 has at least one support member 16 which supports the second part 9 of the unit when it is fitted in the space 10 in the first part, i.e. over the opening 12 in the bottom part 13 of the space.
The second part 9 of the unit 1 in turn has at least one spacer 17 which is used to form the gap 15 between the first and second parts 8, 9 of the unit when the second part is applied in the space 10 in the first part 8.
In the embodiment shown in the drawings, the first part 8 of the unit 1 according to the present invention has, in addition to the flange 11 for mounting the first part of the unit at the top of and / or in the floor drain, a surface surrounded by this flange, substantially perpendicular to this the space 10 for the second part 9 of the unit delimiting flange 18. This flange 18 extending perpendicularly to the flange 11, which has a height which substantially corresponds to or slightly exceeds the height of the second part 9 of the unit 1, has at least one support member arranged on the inside thereof 16 for said second part of the unit. Accordingly, after the application of the first part 8 of the unit 1 to and / or in the floor drain 2, the flange 11 extends substantially horizontally and the flange 18 delimiting the space 10 for the second part 9 substantially vertically upwards In the preferred embodiment of the unit shown in the drawings 1 according to the present invention, the flange 18 delimiting the space 10 for the second part 9 of the unit is four-sided. The flange 18 can, however, have any suitable shape according to needs and wishes. With a four-sided flange 18 according to the drawings, the support means preferably comprises a support portion 16 arranged at the bottom in each corner of the flange. Each support portion 16 may have inwardly facing the opening 12 a side with a curvature corresponding to the diameter of the opening; can, as in the embodiment shown, form a part of the flange 11, on which the flange 18 is thus arranged. Resp. however, the support portion may have any other form suitable for the intended purpose and be arranged in any other suitable manner. In the preferred embodiment shown in the drawings, the bottom part 13 of the space 10 in the first part 8 of the unit 1 is completely covered by the opening 12 with the exception only of said support means 16.
The second part 9 of the unit 1 according to the present invention consists in the embodiment shown in the drawings of a space 14 for the at least one tile or the like. delimiting bottom part 19 resp. of a substantially perpendicular to the bottom part, the space for said tile or the like. delimiting flange 20. The spacer on the flange 20 then comprises e.g. a spacer portion 17 arranged at the bottom of each corner of the flange, substantially horizontally extending outwards from the flange 17. Resp. spacer portion 17 extends from a corner of the flange 20 of the second part 9 of the unit 1 to an opposite corner of the flange 18 of the first part 8 of the unit when said second part is applied in the space 10 in the first part, so that the gap 15 formed between the flanges 18 and 20 also becomes four-sided. Because the spacer portions 17 are substantially equal in size, the four-sided gap 15 between the flanges 18, 20 also has the same width throughout. At any time after the first part 8 of the unit 1 has been applied in place at the top of and / or in the floor drain 2, to the extent necessary the floor around said first part can be leveled by e.g. spackling.
